The Würth Philharmoniker continue on their path of artistic continuity: Chief Conductor Claudio Vandelli has extended his contract by a further two years until June 2029. With this decision, the orchestra builds on the successful and trusting collaboration of recent years.
Since the beginning of 2020, Vandelli has played a key role in shaping the artistic development of the orchestra. Under his direction, the ensemble has steadily evolved, significantly expanded its repertoire, and grown by 20 professionally trained musicians. Together, the Würth Philharmoniker and Claudio Vandelli have released three CDs and, following the كورونا period, increased their guest performance activity, which has since taken them to venues including the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, the George Enescu Festival in Bucharest, the Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg, and the Berlin Philharmonie. With new formats such as live streaming, the Würth Philharmoniker are also expanding their international visibility today as a respected, dynamic ensemble with strong artistic appeal.
C. Sylvia Weber, Managing Director of Reinhold Würth Musikstiftung gGmbH, explains:
“Culture needs continuity and creativity in order to develop well. In this, the Würth Philharmoniker closely follow the goals of the Würth Group. We are convinced that the excellent collaboration to date — in the overall interplay with all guests on stage — will continue to bear fruit, and we support Claudio Vandelli in his work.”
The extension allows the orchestra to continue the work it has begun in a consistent manner and to further refine its musical profile. Particular emphasis will be placed on expanding the repertoire, supporting young musicians, and deepening international collaborations.
Claudio Vandelli comments:
“I am very pleased and honoured by the extension of my contract! It enables the Würth Philharmoniker and me to continue and complete our joint development and collaboration. Among the many projects, the idea of a joint tour is particularly close to my heart.”
In addition to Claudio Vandelli’s role as Chief Conductor, Martin Panteleev will remain closely connected to the Würth Philharmoniker as Principal Guest Conductor. Another important component of the orchestra’s work is the school and family concerts under the direction of Elisabeth Fuchs, which from the coming season onward will be fully performed by the Würth Philharmoniker. Since the beginning of the current season, Kent Nagano has also been part of the artistic team as Honorary Conductor. By extending the contract of its Chief Conductor, the Würth Philharmoniker are strengthening artistic continuity while also creating reliable prospects for their audience, their musicians, and the regional and international cultural scene.
The Würth Philharmoniker are based at the Carmen Würth Forum in Künzelsau and have delighted audiences since their founding in 2017 with a broad repertoire and exceptional sound quality. Under the direction of Chief Conductor Claudio Vandelli and with international guest conductors, the ensemble of Reinhold Würth Musikstiftung gGmbH has earned an excellent reputation in a very short time and performs regularly in Europe’s most important concert halls.
